My Choice – Jos Strauss: Music of the Spheres – Beautiful sights and sound. Sphärenklänge, Op. 235 (Music of the Spheres), by Josef Strauss (1827-70) We put this Waltz on Youtube a few months ago but since it’s a very beautiful waltz, we’re putting it up again this time using photos from various countries in the world. Josef Strauss (German: Josef Strauß) (1827 – 870) was an Austrian composer and a great one also. He was born in Vienna, the son of Johann Strauss I and brother of Johann Strauss II and Eduard Strauss. His academic achievements at an early age do not point to his being a composer but in fact he ended up composing some of the most beautiful waltzes we have. He joined the family orchestra in the 1850s. His first published work was called “Die Ersten und Letzten” (The First and the Last). This suggests that he was reluctant to deputise for his brother Johann Strauss II, when the latter was taken seriously ill in 1853. The waltz-loving Viennese, however, were appreciative of his early compositions, and he decided to continue in the family tradition of composing dance music. He was known as ‘Pepi’ by his family and close friends, and Johann once said of him: “Pepi is the more gifted of us two; I am merely the more popular…” Music is copyrighted by its corresponding owners. Orchestra of Spheres: Nonagonic Now
Filed under: music of the spheres
It's definitely a weird track that quickly establishes that Orchestra of Spheres isn't going to play music the easy way. Still, the rhythmic force of the percussion holds the song together through all the weirdness and makes for a sort of fascinating …

BEHIND THE SCENES FOR OSCAR HIT'S LEGAL FIXER
Filed under: music of the spheres
There is one notable departure from the film, notes Renney – the background music when the newly non-stuttering King addresses the nation in the final scene has been changed from Beethoven to the more patriotic Elgar. MUCH mirth for City workers …

Best Chimes ever.,
These chimes are large and the ‘wind catcher’ is about 4″ square. I was a little concerned about the size, them being too loud. This is not a problem. I was replacing a bell chime right outside my door that has some wind protection. The sound is wonderful, every time I pass I blow the wind catcher for the light melody. It has a deeper sound and reminds one of church bells. The only down side is if the wind is really strong the tubes will hit each other and then the sound is somewhat clanking. As I’m typing I can hear the melody. Even my husband who never notices chimes asked me what that wonderful sound was.
Was this review helpful to you?
|I can’t help but notice the similarities between this and his Brother’s “Blue Danube” from 2 years ealier. Not so much in the melodies, but the phrasing. I’m sure there are parts you could superimpose and? they would fit together nicely.
I clicked on your name and the next video up was “La Paloma”, one of my favorites, since I was a child.? La Paloma means “The Dove” in Spanish and has lovely words. For some reason this will not let me post the link, so search for Nina Mouskouri’s version, singing “La Paloma” in Spanish. It is very beautiful. I did subscribe to your channel, so I will enjoy watching your other selections.
